Staletá Praha 30, 1/2014, 2-24 | DOI: 10.56112/sp.2014.1.01
The article deals with the Baroque Colloredo-Mansfeld palace, an important Baroque building from the turn of the first and second decades of the 18th century. More precise dating by dendrochronology is permitting a more likely determination of the authorship of Giovanni Battista Alliprandi, whose foreman otherwise attended the construction. Attention is also given to the Rococo furnishings of the palace and the major reconstruction in the years 1901-1902.

Staletá Praha 30, 1/2014, 25-65 | DOI: 10.56112/sp.2014.1.02
A woodcut of the Isis-Madonna was found in a private collection in Prague, one of the key works of the founder of the Beuron Art School, P. Peter Desiderius Lenz. For decades, only the school's plaster and bronze castings were known. The finding of a small statue, whose origin is not yet completely clear, will not only allow for a further shift in the knowledge of the Beuron style which until recently was a neglected source of inspiration for the work of architect Josip Plečnik, but it also illustrates the mutual creative relationships with his student and successor Otto Rothmayer. The study follows the artistic development of Peter Lenz at the time...

The phenomenon of post-war architecture of Prague hotel accommodation has been gaining in popularity recently, though it still represents an unevaluated segment of the heritage fund. From the many surviving representatives of this kind of typological architecture in Prague between 1960-1990, the study analytically addresses three specific buildings which, although they come from different parts of the monitored period, share a common denominator in their architectural and artistic quality with an emphasis on the interior artistic furnishings. From the 1960's this is the Parkhotel, the 1970's is represented by the Hotel Intercontinental, and Hotel Forum...
Centennial Prague (4). The Authorship of some of Prague's facades from the art nouveau, modernism and cubism period
Das hundertjährige Prag (4). Zur Urheberschaft der ausgewählten Prager Fassaden des Jugendstils, der Moderne und des Kubismus
Jan E. Svoboda
Staletá Praha 30, 1/2014, 89-110 | DOI: 10.56112/sp.2014.1.04
The three part of the study presents the last group of architects and master builders active in Prague from the end of the 19th century to the foundation of the Czechoslovak republic. After characteristic outer features the author attempted to assign some of the quality work to known or neglected architects or to state a presumption about the authorship as a matter of discussion. This study does not include well known architects, whose work is already published in detail. Included are other known names of reputable project architects as well as absolvents of The State industrial college and Vienna architects, whose names are unfamiliar within Prague....

The Novomlýnská Water Tower forms one of the most striking landmarks of the Ludvik Svoboda riverfront and it can be seen today in its Baroque appearance. The building behind it is the credit of its builder, whose name, just like the more detailed circumstances of the construction, were not yet known. Based on a comparison of several sources and contracts edited in the annex, the course of the entire construction company can now be reconstructed.

Information on the discovery of a set of lunette paintings with scenes from the life of St. Augustine, the work of painter Jiří Matěj Nettl (1660-1747) from 1699. The cycle of 31 paintings, which originally came from the monastery of the Discalced Augustinians in Lnáře and is considered missing in existing literature, was recently identified in the cloister and the monastery church of St. Thomas in Prague's Malá Strana. The work also presents a basic iconographic analysis of the set and places it into the context of painting cycles with the legend of St. Augustine from the turn of the 17th/18th century.

Staletá Praha 30, 1/2014, 136-144 | DOI: 10.56112/sp.2014.1.07
The need for documentation and a general analysis of authentic window and door panels in the past year of the research project focused on wooden lattices known as katry. These were recorded in six houses in the Prague Heritage Reservation. The example of lattice door No. 169 in Úvoza in Hradčany was selected for detailed examination. The extension of this type beyond Prague is demonstrated by the second detailed examination of the element in the fortress building at No. 31 in Nebovidy 31 (Kolín nad Labem district) from the end of the 19th century.
