A summary of current knowledge concerns a complex of several houses in Spálená Street in the New Town of Prague. One of the recent extensive rescue archaeological excavations in the centre of the Prague heritage reserve provided a view into the building history of a large block of houses. This presentation combines the results of an earlier research, with newly gained knowledge in the field of archaeology and building history. The value of the site is underlined by the extent, condition and informative potential of its historic cellars. Although the site suffered a large urban transformation in the past decade, the revealed stratigraphy gives evidence...

A glass vessel found in the infill of a high medieval slate pit, which was probably situated in the rear part of the civic house plot at the Old Town of Prague, presents an unknown type of kutrolf, combining common shape with morphological features of classic table ware, mainly goblets. This vessel was professionally restored and chemical analysis of the glass was undertaken.

Presentation of the results of the archaeological rescue excavation in the Purkyně Street in the New Town, Prague. Three seasons of archaeological research were evoked by the transformation of the site appearance and the construction of a multifunctional centre planned for the near future. Site stratigraphy, together with written evidence, document settlement activities from the 12ve century to the present day. The remains of the earliest features from the pre-location hamlet of St. Martin's Újezd were overlaid after their decline by a burial area of the Jewish garden, of which the northern periphery was documented with two graves. A block of adjacent...

Due to several recent archaeological excavations combined with building history surveys within the basement of the Baroque college of Clementinum in Prague an assemblage of Gothic architectonic fragments was documented. Preliminary evaluation of the finds and of Early Gothic rib and window moulding fragments illustrate early Gothic architecture of this part of Prague. According to the written evidence the finds of Early Gothic architectonic fragments and hypothetically also some of the wall remains can be linked to a Dominican monastery, which was situated here since the 1230s.

The life story of St. Agnes of Bohemia belongs to themes, which have been reviewed by internal medievalists from various angles. Also archaeology with its research methods aimed mainly at matters connected with the site of her life - the area of the monastery Na Františku in Prague. From scientific approach peripheral, but from public point of view pertinent, is the question of her missing bodily remains, which were sought after at numerous sites in our country since the early times. This article summarises results of recent archaeological investigations for the remains of this Bohemian Saint in the Prague church of St. Haštal in 2010, with explanations...
