RT Journal Article SR Electronic A1 Kovář, Miroslav A1 Staňková, Veronika T1 From the early building history of the Dominican female convent in Prague Old TownAus der älteren Baugeschichte des Klosters der dominikanerinnen der Prager Altstadt JF Staletá Praha YR 2021 VO 37 IS 2 SP 39 OP 89 DO 10.56112/sp.2021.2.02 UL https://staletapraha.cz/en/artkey/pha-202102-0002.php AB The article summarizes the latest knowledge, revises the current data and brings a new perspective on the evaluation of the medieval building development of the former Dominican female convent in the area of today's No. 211 in Prague Old Town, which replaced the former Templar commandry. The survey also identified an early Gothic tower house from the 13th century - a single-wing building adjacent to the corner tower. The house was subsequently incorporated into the High Gothic construction of the Dominican convent. The convent grew up in two construction stages in the second and third quarters of the 14th century. Documentation work during the adaptation of the east wing in 2016 and 2017 confirmed the high level of preservation of medieval walls and structures.
