Representation, family relations, ownership of rural estates, connections with nobility, use of a coat of arms etc. - these are circumstances, which can be observed during a research of the towns' environment. Example of Simons' personality can draw attention to various types of sources, which enable one to uncover the life of a late medieval burgher, despite their specific and often very limited ability of testimony.
