Beneath the seemingly trivial facade of the side yard wing with balconies, there are hidden remains of painted Renaissance facade and a paneled brick facade from the 14th century below, with unexpectedly fine and surprisingly well preserved paintings from the time of John of Luxembourg or Charles IV. The revealed part of the paintings contains a frontal depiction of a bishop, probably of St. Adalbert in two fields of the facade, and an alliance Bohemian-Luxembourg coat of arms. An attempt to date the paintings is included in the article along with their classification in to the context of contemporary Central European art based on curent state of knowledge of the monument. Apart from the iconographic, stylistic and heraldic points of view attention is paid mainly to the (seemingly?) unusual location of the painting on the exterior of a town building. ER
