AB Initially the origins of the register and evidence of portable cultural artefacts is presented, recorded by the regional office of the National Heritage Institute in Prague. This continuously updated register was commenced in 1964-1974 by a team of external specialists, led by Emanuel Poche. Currently there are more than 25,000 listed portable cultural artefacts in Prague, which is the highest number in the Czech Republic. In 2005-2011 a research project to review the identification of these artefacts resulted in the first revision of this collection since the primary register. This project included artefacts from the Old Town hall in Prague. This study presents the basic information of the assemblage set in its historic context, its basic typology and an evaluation of its current state.
