The National Heritage Institute, Prague Regional Office (NPÚ, ÚOP v Praze) is a professional research organization responsible for the care of national heritage properties, with regional authority within the Czech capital city of Prague.

The NPÚ ÚOP in Prague is one of nineteen offices that currently comprise the National Heritage Institute (NPÚ). The NPÚ is a professional organization responsible for the care of national heritage properties with authority throughout the Czech Republic. The NPÚ was created through a merger of existing professional organizations of state heritage care on 1 January 2003.

The NPÚ is a state contributory organization as defined by the Act on State Heritage Care (Act No. 20/1987 Coll., as amended) and is managed by the Czech Ministry of Culture. Organizationally, it is divided into the General Directorate, Regional Specialized Offices in individual regions, and four territorial heritage administrations that are responsible for state castles and other heritage properties.

As a professional research organization responsible for the care of national heritage properties, the National Heritage Institute ensures and performs basic and applied scientific research and other professional, pedagogical, educational, publication, and popularization activities aimed at ensuring the quality of expertise in the care of cultural heritage and protected heritage sites.

The NPÚ also uses research results for its activities and disseminates them through publishing and teaching.
