AB This essay presents the findings of the recently discovered windows of the apse of the Hostivař church. Regarding the details of its surviving medieval form, this church was until recently considered to be a relatively poor building. This opinion changed with the discovery of wall paintings in the apse; during their gradual uncovering it became possible to document and partially restore a window whose existence had previously been unknown. The text deals with the position and shape of the discovered windows of Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque age as well as the issue of re-opening them and the illumination of the presbytery throughout the history of the church.
